Three levels
Offline
90–100
No signal from any major carrier. No Wi-Fi.
Deep
75–89
No Wi-Fi. Weak or single-carrier signal.
Quiet
60–74
Limited signal. Wi-Fi off or a phone lockbox.
How we measure signal
We start with FCC coverage data for each major carrier. It describes outdoor coverage, so we treat it as a strong indicator, not a guarantee. Guest reports from inside the stay refine it. When enough guests confirm, the stay earns a Guest-verified signal badge.
A human reads every score
An algorithm drafts each score. An editor reviews it, reads the guest notes, and adjusts when the data misses something: a ridge that blocks a tower, a host who quietly added Wi-Fi.
Re-scoring
Towers go up. Hosts change things. Every stay is re-checked at least once a season, and the date of the last check is shown on its page.
No one can pay for a higher score.
We may earn a commission when you book. That never changes a number, a ranking, or what we write.
